Clarification regarding lawsuit
February 13, 2012
Dear residents, families, friends and stakeholders:
You might have seen the article this week in The Gainesville Sun concerning the judgment in a case involving a man’s care at the former University Place Care and Rehabilitation Center, now Signature HealthCARE of Gainesville. First, let me say our deepest sympathies rest with the Webb family, and we hope the judgment brings closure to what has undoubtedly been a very difficult period in their lives.
Second, I want to make clear to all of you that this incident took place several years ago, before the building was acquired by Signature HealthCARE. However regrettable and unfortunate, accidents do occur. But I want to reassure all of you that Signature is committed to the safety, protection and overall well-being of our residents and your loved ones.
We take very seriously this sacred mission to care for your loved ones. If anyone has questions about this issue – or anything to do with our center, for that matter – please do not hesitate to contact me at (352) 377-1981.
Sincerely,
Sean O’Malley
Administrator
Signature HealthCARE of Gainesville
